Overview
Sri Lanka has almost thirteen hundred kilometers of picture postcard style wide sandy beaches where in one place the beach forms sheltered little cove, a sandy beach headland or a little bay, of all shapes sizes and colours. The country being an archipelago in itself, it is no surprise that beaches abound in Sri Lanka, making the country soar rapidly in the lists of coastal holiday destinations and those of holiday destinations in general. There is an immense variety that one would be bound to notice when it comes to beaches in the country, and there is one for even the most nitpicky of travelers. Rangin from tropical coastal groves to swathes of white-sand, Sri Lanka has it all.
Bubbling with a number of popular beaches of tourist attraction that one would generally expect of it, Sri Lanka tourism never faces any shortage; but that is far from being all. The country also has its fair share of quiet and quaint beaches that are yet reticent to the popular public eye, and are favorite haunts of those who would rather enjoy contemplative quietude than a bustling and clamoring solar euphoria.
